Avive COO Named Top 40 Under 40 Awardee

At 23 years old, Sameer Jafri, CEO and co-founder of Avive Solutions was awarded, by Citizen CPR Foundations, the 40 Under 40 award.

This award recognizes 40 heart safe advocates who are under 40 years old and who have enriched the SCA community by making outstanding improvements to the SCA epidemic. Contributions include, but are not limited to, saving lives, raising awareness, innovating technology and science, and implementing training and SCA preparedness into communities.

Nominees of all backgrounds were welcome to apply and were judged based on how well they transformed the lives of those in the SCA community.

From SCA prevention to developing disruptive therapeutic SCA technology, Sameer and colleagues “seeks to make Avive the most accessible and portable AED unit on the market, so that it will be available to anyone in need, regardless of their age, location, or other demographics. To help ensure accessibility, Avive will be smaller, lighter, more portable, and more affordable than any AED on the market today, allowing an AED gets to a patient where and when it’s needed,” Vice President of Commercialization, Micah Bongberg shared.

Sameer began his efforts during his undergraduate studies at UCLA where he began the non-profit, Saving Hearts Foundation, a foundation dedicated to providing free heart screenings to high school students. And though his focus is now primarily at Avive Solutions, Sameer still serves on the nonprofit’s board and Saving Hearts Foundation remains a student-run organization screening thousands of students in the Los Angeles area.
