Fire and EMS

The AED made with first responders in mind.

Avive’s emergency data-sharing technology and 911 integration aims to bridge critical gaps in cardiac arrest care. Empower your decision making and cardiac arrest response with real-time data from lifesaving AEDs.

Trusted by departments across the country.

“The ability to view AEDs in real time and track essential metrics like battery and pad life provides a huge peace of mind, especially when it comes to maintaining their readiness for use. Being able to monitor this remotely helps reduce the risk of failures at critical moments.”

Fire

The role fire departments play in the Chain of Survival.

Fire department BLS responders can quickly arrive on the scene of a cardiac arrest emergency to begin or continue patient care before EMS arrival.

With Avive’s connectivity, fire departments can now leverage data from an AED like never before. With Avive’s Rapid Incident Reporting, you can share post-use incident data with hospital providers immediately after an Avive Connect AED® is used.

Data is retrievable via an on-screen QR Code that provides access to the patient’s full ECG recordings, usage time stamps, and shock analysis to help improve downstream decision making.

EMS

Access and leverage post-use Incident Data.

EMS professionals play a vital role in the cardiac arrest Chain of Survival by advancing care and transporting a patient to the hospital.

Now, you can have insight into everything that happened during the emergency before your arrival with Avive’s Rapid Incident Reporting.

Healthcare professional scanning the Avive AED to read the data

Access and leverage post-use Incident Data from the Avive Connect AED® to strengthen your system of care. Scan a QR Code on-screen to access the patient’s full ECG recordings, device usage time stamps, and shock analysis. Relay this information via an Incident ID to downstream medical providers to help inform their decision making.

With other AEDs, I've never known that I could get the information and if so, how to go about that process. But now, having that QR code there, it's a simple process and we can easily get that information moved up...I know that the cardiologist needs that at the hospital and that really directs their care.”

Brett Parlee
Paramedic, Central EMS, GA

The QuickRescue™ feature seems like a game-changer for efficiency too—speeding up notifications to ensure the "Chain of Survival" continues to function seamlessly is invaluable in emergency situations.”

Frequently asked questions.

Find answers to the most asked questions regarding our solution.

Traditional AEDs make it difficult to access post-use incident data from the device, especially very quickly. Without access to the AED’s emergency data, downstream healthcare providers often don’t have the full picture of what happened during the event, which makes it more difficult to make informed treatment decisions once the patient arrives at the hospital.

Event data from an AED is extremely valuable for doctors and cardiologists as it provides context into what the patient’s initial heart rhythm was, the sequence of emergency events, and insight into how the patient was treated before arrival at the hospital- all of which have an impact on the treatment decisions that need to be made quickly after a cardiac arrest.

Having AEDs readily available in fire department vehicles can improve survival rates during Sudden Cardiac Arrest emergencies and help deliver care to patients more quickly. AEDs are designed to be easy to use, providing clear instructions to deliver a potentially lifesaving electric shock to restore normal heart rhythm. Their accessibility enables first responders and even bystanders to act quickly, minimizing the critical time between collapse and defibrillation.

This rapid response is crucial, as the chances of survival decrease by 7-10% for every minute without defibrillation. Equipping fire department vehicles and public spaces with AEDs ensures that help is available when and where it is needed most, ultimately saving lives and reducing the overreliance on emergency medical services.

Fire departments often host community-based CPR training, and Avive Connect AED®s are a great addition to any AED and CPR training program. Each Avive Connect AED® doubles as a fully functional training unit and can run realistic cardiac arrest scenarios that empower users to feel confident and familiar training on the same device they would during an emergency. With Avive, there’s no need to purchase additional training units that cannot be used in an emergency. Simply swap in the Avive AED Training Cartridge to run training demos.

Avive’s Rapid Incident Data Retrieval allows first responders to access critical data from the AED on-scene through simply scanning a QR Code - no additional cables or adapters are required to quickly access data from the device. This data is extremely valuable to the healthcare providers who receive the patient at the hospital and can be used to inform their treatment decisions.

Avive’s QuickRescue™ feature also allows an Avive Connect AED® to notify local 911 centers when the device is in use, which ensures that emergency services are made aware of the emergency even if a bystander has not yet called 911.

Yes! The Avive Connect AED® has universal electrode pads which allow it to be used on both children and adults without having to buy separate, expensive pediatric keys or electrode pads. Simply press the Child button to adjust the energy of the shock to one that’s appropriate for pediatric patients between 1-8 years old.
