Public Access

Revolutionizing public
access AED programs.

Avive has reimagined AEDs, making them easier to carry, use, and leverage when time is of the essence. It's time for the next-generation public access device.

The impact of AEDs

The stark reality.

356K

Each year in the U.S. 356,000+ people will experience an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA).1

10%

1 out of every 10 patients survives an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) in the U.S.2

2%

Despite their availability, AEDs are only used about 2% of the time before EMS arrival.2

“Because of the size and location of our properties, it can be difficult for emergency services to get to people who are in an emergency. Having this new technology that’s going to be a lot easier for our staff to use is going to be extremely helpful. We have people of all ages coming out and doing physical activity in our parks, so it’s just reassuring to know that we’ll have this lifesaving technology if there is an incident in one of the parks.”

Avive’s Intelligent Response™

Connecting the Chain of Survival.

A connected platform that bridges the gap between lifesaving technology and a community's system of cardiac arrest response.
  • In partnership with RapidSOS, Avive's Intelligent Response Platform powers the Avive Connect AEDs integration directly with greater than 90%+ of 911 call centers across the country.
1

AED(s) dispatched through 911.

Intelligent Response™ enables data sharing between 911 telecommunicators and Avive Connect AEDs.
  • 911 receives an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) call.
  • 911 telecommunicators alert a network of nearby Avive Connect AEDs through their RapidSOS portal.
2

Avive Connect AED(s) alerted.

Avive Connect AEDs receive a Nearby Emergency Alert notifying citizens that their device is needed.
  • Avive Connect AEDs nearby the emergency signal with a red screen and audible alarm.
  • Nearby emergency alert provides both waking and driving navigation instructions to the rescuer
  • Device owners also receive a Nearby Emergency SMS text message, letting them know their Avive Connect AED is needed nearby.
3

Citizen responds.

Once the Nearby Emergency Alert is accepted, the Avive Connect AED® shows a map with the location of the emergency.
  • 911 telecommunicators can see which nearby AEDs have accepted the alert.
  • The Avive Connect AED® displays a QR Code that provides the user with directions in Google or Apple Maps.
4

Step-by-step emergency guidance.

The Avive Connect AED offers clear audio and visual instructions to guide the user through the emergency.
  • Audio and visual instructions with motion graphics walk the user through every step of the rescue attempt.
  • CPR guidance and a compression metronome helps users maintain proper CPR quality in line with international standards for CPR.
  • During the emergency, 911 telecommunicators have continuous insight into what's happening on scene, including what step the user is on while using the AED, the most recent heart rhythm analysis, and more.
5

Rapid access to incident data.

Upon arrival, first responders can rapidly access clinical incident data from the Avive Connect AED®.
  • After the Avive Connect AED® is powered off, post-use incident data is made available on-screen via a QR Code and unique Incident ID.
  • First responders can easily share the full ECG Incident Report with receiving hospitals
6

More informed patient care.

Downstream healthcare providers can access cardiac arrest incident data from the Avive Connect AED®, even before the patient arrives at the hospital.
  • Medical providers can rapidly access clinical data from the Avive Connect AED® via the REALConnect platform, even before the patient arrives
  • Swift access to cardiac arrest incident data from an AED can help inform treatment decisions.
The status quo isn’t working

It’s time for a
new approach.

Placing more AEDs in communities isn’t enough—they need to be used. Despite millions of AEDs deployed across the U.S., survival rates have stayed the same. Avive is changing that by bringing next-generation connectivity and 911 integration to ensure AEDs are located, accessed, and used when they’re needed most.

Why public access programs choose Avive.

AED utilization is low because many bystanders do not know where devices are located. Additionally, they are often unaware when emergencies occur nearby - this is where our new program partnering with Avive Solutions brings the Avive AED which helps to solve this problem. The Avive AED along with our partners at our [911] communication center can be dispatched directly to these emergencies. So when a bystander comes across somebody who's suffering from Sudden Cardiac Arrest, the AED can be activated from the dispatch center and be directed right to the scene of that emergency and provide care.

Avive’s PAD+ Programs elevate traditional public access defibrillation by integrating Avive Connect AEDs with local 911 centers to streamline cardiac arrest response with the goal of decreasing time to defibrillation and saving more lives from cardiac arrest. Avive’s PAD+ Programs implement Avive’s Intelligent Response technology, which enables Avive Connect AEDs to fully integrate with 911 call centers. Intelligent Response gives 911 telecommunicators the ability to alert community members, by text message and an on-screen device alert, when and where their lifesaving devices need to be used during nearby emergencies.

Avive’s REALConnect Platform streamlines AED maintenance for public access and municipal programs through remote monitoring that eliminates the need for manual AED checks. Cellular, Wi-Fi,, and GPS technology allow each device to report its health, status, and location back to a centralized dashboard every day during its nightly self test, allowing for total program oversight. If a device requires maintenance - such as a battery charge or pad cartridge replacement - program managers receive text or email notifications to help let them know which devices need attention and resolve issues quickly.

Yes, the Avive Connect AED is designed to be approachable and intuitive for both trained and untrained people to use during an emergency. The device provides clear audio and visual instructions that guide users through the rescue attempt and provide CPR guidance with a metronome. The device automatically analyzes the person’s heart rhythm and will only deliver a shock (automatically) if necessary, making it safe for non-medical users to operate during an emergency. Good Samaritan laws exist in all 50 states which protect people who use an AED in good faith from liability.

Parks and recreation facilities are often home to high-traffic activities such as sports, fitness classes, and community events, making quick access to an AED crucial for improving survival rates from Sudden Cardiac Arrest. The Avive Connect AED’s  lightweight and portable design ensures it can be easily transported across large areas like playgrounds, sports fields, or trails. Its simple audio and visual instructions empower bystanders with no medical training to confidently assist during emergencies, while the universal electrode pads accommodate both adults and children, making it ideal for family-friendly spaces. Built for outdoor durability with a dust- and splash-resistant design (IP54 rating), the device performs reliably in diverse environmental conditions.
