“For us, having an AED at home is very important because we know people at risk. We bought a personal AED for our house in the event that cardiac arrest were to happen, which isn’t unrealistic. We want to be prepared with an AED so that we can do something to save a family member or loved one in the event of cardiac arrest.”

Frequently asked questions.

Sudden Cardiac Arrest is an abrupt and unexpected loss of heart function. The most effective treatment for Sudden Cardiac Arrest is CPR and a rapid shock from an AED, or Automated External Defibrillator. Chances of survival from cardiac arrest decrease by up to 10% for every minute it goes untreated, so the quicker a shock from an AED is given, the higher the chance of survival.

The most common indicators of Sudden Cardiac Arrest are unresponsiveness and either irregular or no breathing. While cardiac arrest often occurs without warning, some individuals may experience symptoms like chest pain or discomfort, dizziness, lightheadedness, or unusual fatigue before the event. Other observable signs include pale, cold, or clammy skin, and cyanosis (a bluish tint around the lips or fingertips) due to a lack of oxygen.

Sudden Cardiac Arrest can happen to anyone, but people with certain medical conditions are at higher risk. Your doctor may recommend an Avive Connect AED to protect you at home if you suffer from one of these conditions: heart failure, atrial fibrillation, hypertension, previous stroke, family history of Sudden Cardiac Arrest, or a previous heart attack.

The Avive Connect AED® is a portable medical device used to treat Sudden Cardiac Arrest. AEDs analyze the heart’s rhythm and, if needed, deliver a lifesaving shock to restore the heart to its normal rhythm. The Avive Connect AED® guides the user through the rescue with audio and visual instructions, and is specifically designed to be easy to use, even for people with no training.

Time is the biggest obstacle when it comes to Sudden Cardiac Arrest survival. While it may seem that being physically close to emergency resources will decrease the time-to-defibrillation, the reality is that the average EMS response time is 7-10 minutes. Having an AED at home increases the likelihood of survival through quick defibrillation.

No. All FDA-approved AED units can provide the same lifesaving therapy by analyzing the person’s heart rhythm and delivering a defibrillation shock if one is necessary. Because of the Avive Connect AED’s small size, intuitive design, and 911 integration capabilities, it has become the choice for at-home users and has helped make lifesaving technology more accessible for families and individuals.

While the Avive Connect AED® has advanced capabilities and first-of-its-kind features, it is designed to be competitively priced when compared to other AEDs on the market. The device is $1699 and includes the first year of REALConnect™ software for free. After the first year of ownership, REALConnect™ - which enables device connectivity - is $199/year per device for each year thereafter.
