Follow these simple steps to harness the full potential of your lifesaving device and Avive’s REALConnect™ software.

Unbox and initialize.
IMPORTANT: Wi-Fi or cellular connectivity is NOT required for your AED to operate in an emergency and has no impact on the device’s lifesaving functions.

Remove your Avive Connect AED® from the packaging and press the Power Button to initialize your device.

The device will run a few internal tests to ensure it is ready to save a life.

Connect your device to Wi-Fi and select a Power Mode. NOTE: stay in Low Power Mode to maximize battery life.
Charge your device.
We recommend storing your Avive Connect AED® where it can be plugged into its charger continuously. However, your device’s battery life will typically last between 8-12 months on a single charge if you are not storing it near a power source.

Let your Avive Connect AED charge overnight after you initialize it.
Use the Avive USB Charging Cable and Avive USB Power Adpater that were included in your package.

When your device is fully charged, the Status Light will quickly blink twice every 15 seconds.
Activate and Log in to REALConnect™.

Choose your organization.
Select your REALConnect™ organization from the list to access your Dashboard page.
If you don’t see a REALConnect™ invitation email or any available Organizations, please contact Avive by calling 1 (800) 489-4428 or emailing support@avive.life.


Sync with REALConnect™.
Your Avive Connect AED(s)® should automatically sync with REALConnect™ after initialization (Step 1).
Your device will then begin sharing its status with REALConnect™, either over Wi-Fi or cellular connection. We recommend keeping your device connected to a Wi-Fi network whenever possible.
If you see any devices REALConnect™ showing “Setup Needed,” that means they need to be Initialized (Step 1 on this page).

Customize your REALConnect™ account.
Your REALConnect™ account streamlines AED maintenance and helps you ensure your devices are always ready to be used in an emergency. If your AED needs attention or is activated in an emergency, REALConnect™ quickly lets you know.

Customize your Profile page and notification preferences.
Login to REALConnect™ and choose the type of notifications you want to receive about the health and status of your AEDs, and how you want to receive them (by email or SMS text message).
Navigate to the Profile page in your REALConnect™ account to make any changes or updates to your notification preferences
Enter a mobile phone number so you can receive SMS text message notifications about your AEDs.
Opt in to Fleet Health Summary emails and get a snapshot view of your entire Fleet Health delivered to your inbox—once a month, once a week, or every day.
Opt in to Device Health Changes notifications and get alerted when your device changes health states (i.e. Temperature Warning, Low Battery, Pad Cartridge expiration).
Opt in to Incident Notifications and get an email or text message when one of your devices is in use.
Customize your Dashboard.
- Add Users to help manage AEDs in your organization.
- Name and Assign your AEDs to Administrators, Managers, or Responders. Each user role varies in level of permissions.
- Create and Assign AEDs to Locations.


Customize your Organization Settings.
There are certain settings you can enable across your entire fleet of Avive Connect AED®s, including QuickRescue™, PIN Code, and Billing information.
- Enable QuickRescue™ to automatically notify 911 when your AED is in use.
- Add your credit card and streamline your REALConnect™ software subscription.
Continued maintenance with REALConnect™.

Pad cartridge replacements
With your active REALConnect™ subscription, you are entitled to free Avive AED® Pad Cartridge replacements when yours expire or once your device is used.
