Employee Spotlight: Ensuring Customer Success with David Liu
David Liu is the inaugural member of Avive’s Customer Success Team, where he has helped to lead and grow the department since we began commercializing the Avive Connect AED in February of this year. In addition to our online store, we launched a call center, live chat, and online help center to help meet the needs of our growing national customer base. Through chat box or in-person visits, David helps to onboard and support our customers, making sure they feel comfortable leveraging their lifesaving devices and online AED management tools.
Creating lifesaving technology is complex, but David makes sure customers understand that using it doesn’t have to be. With his can-do attitude and kind demeanor, David serves as a motivated helper and a friendly point of contact for our customer base.
Get to know more about the man behind the phone lines in the interview below.
As Client Services Lead, what does your role entail?
As Client Services Lead, I get to work with customers every day. I answer our phones, chat, and email as well as onboard our customers when they receive their AED
What was your first job?
I worked as a sales floor member at Target for a summer when I was in college. It was quite the experience, Target is a wild place.
What has been your favorite project or experience at Avive so far?
My favorite experience so far has been deploying 30 of our first Avive Connect AEDs to Seven Springs Ski Resort, just south of Pittsburgh. It was wonderful to speak with one of our first customers and hear why they chose Avive and what having a connected AED means for them and the safety of their guests. Plus, being an avid snowboarder, it was fun to see some of the behind the scenes areas without snow.
How would you describe your team at Avive?
My team at Avive is wonderful. I was the first customer support representative for the company–so not having had a team for months, it’s great to have such a supportive team now! Shoutout Emily and Tyler!
What are your passions or hobbies?
Snowboarding, golf, singing and dancing in the car when I’m driving alone, trying new restaurants.
How do you take your coffee?
Black. Or a latte with oatmilk.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
K.I.S.S. Keep It Simple, Stupid.
If you weren’t a Client Services Lead, what would you be doing?
A high school teacher! Still on the table, that goal is just on pause right now!
Do you have a personal mantra or a favorite saying?
We’ll cross that bridge when we get there // Let’s just play this by ear
What does working at Avive mean to you?
Working at Avive has been a great experience thus far. It is very rewarding to hear stories from customers about why they decided to purchase an AED to help protect their loved ones. I love that I get to share knowledge about AEDs, CPR and Sudden Cardiac Arrest every single day.
