Avive Adds Mark Hermes as a Strategic Advisor

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – (April 30, 2021) – Avive Solutions, Inc. (“Avive” or the “Company”), a leading developer of a next-generation Automated External Defibrillator (“AED”), announced that Mark Hermes has joined the Company as a Strategic Advisor. 

Mark is a sales and management leader who comes to Avive with extensive experience in all facets of the AED industry. He worked in various roles at Cardiac Science Corporation (now Zoll Medical) for over fourteen years, most recently, as Vice President of Sales, before recently joining Edge Biomed as Vice President of Market Expansion and Delivery. Throughout his career, Mark has been on the forefront of developing optimal systems for delivering lifesaving AED technology.

Avive Solutions Inc. is a team of engineers, doctors, innovators, first responders, families, and friends on a mission to significantly increase survival rates from Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). SCA accounts for over 350,000 out-of-hospital deaths per year in the United States alone. It is the leading cause of death of people over age 40 and the leading cause of death for student-athletes. SCA can happen to people of all ages, including children and teens, and even people who appear to be in good health. Sudden Cardiac Arrest is a life-threatening condition that requires immediate treatment with Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and a defibrillation shock delivered by an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

An AED is a device that delivers a defibrillation shock to a person in Cardiac Arrest, and is the only way to restart their heart into a normal rhythm. Immediate treatment is crucial, Cardiac Arrest victims will have the best chance of survival if they receive a defibrillation shock within the first 5 minutes.
