Avive Excited to Announce Julie Buckingham as Community Programs Coordinator
SAN FRANCISCO, CA – (Februray, 2023) – Avive Solutions, Inc announces Julie Buckingham as the Community Programs Coordinator, where she will lead the company in launching and scaling Avive’s novel 4 Minute City Program™.
Avive’s 4 Minute City Program
Avive’s 4 Minute Cities utilize a data-driven approach with the goal of increasing survival rates from Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). By connecting the actions of bystanders, 911 dispatchers, Fire/EMS, and healthcare providers to create a cohesive prehospital system of response, the program aims not only to make Avive Connect AEDs™ accessible in the community but to ensure that citizens feel empowered to respond with the tools to save a life.
Julie has a deep-seated passion for partnering with communities to uplift and optimize existing emergency response systems to eliminate preventable death from out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
Formerly, Julie served as the Program Director for RQI, where she developed and managed a nationally recognized T-CPR quality improvement program. A true subject matter expert, Julie has been an active member of the Seattle-King County Resuscitation Academy Faculty for over a decade, where she helps drive national conversations around T-CPR, CPR, and public safety initiatives.
“Like many in the resuscitation community, I’ve been watching with great interest the work being done at Avive and asking ‘what if?’ What if we could rapidly deploy an AED to a residential location of an arrest, where over 80% of cardiac arrests occur? Could this be what finally moves the needle on improving outcomes of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest? I believe it will be, which is why I’m so excited to be a part of the Avive team.”
Julie Buckingham
After spending the earlier part of her career as a 911 Telecommunicator, Julie has an intimate understanding of what it means to be on the other end of a 911 call, and she brings this compassion and solution-oriented attitude to the team at Avive. Her extensive first-hand experience, working collaboratively across all links in the Chain of Survival, is one way that Julie’s expertise perfectly aligns with Avive’s mission to cultivate a culture of bystander response across 4 Minute Cities and society at large.
“From her time as a 911 Telecommunicator to her ongoing work with the Resuscitation Academy, Julie Buckingham has dedicated the better part of her career to improving SCA outcomes,” says Meir Berkman, VP of Strategy and Business Development of Avive Solutions. “Julie is a nationally recognized leader in the SCA space, and her passion for partnering with communities to drive survival in an upward trajectory is just one reason why we’re so humbled to have her join the Avive team.”
