Webinar: Avive LIVE

“Including Bra” Addressing Gender Gaps in SCA Survival

Join an empowering, female-led discussion on the challenges women face in cardiac arrest care and discover how women across industries are driving change.

At Avive, we refuse to accept the status quo. That’s why we made the only AED with rescue graphics of a female patient and instruct users clearly to remove the bra.

About the session

Popular culture and contemporary society case Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) as a man’s problem. Lack of awareness and misconceptions about responding to women in cardiac arrest has led to disparities in care and survival rates.

In honor of International Women’s Month, join us on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at 6 PM ET for a conversation about the gender gaps that exist in SCA response and how women across industries are working to address these through medicine, non-profit work, innovative technology, and advocacy.

You’ll hear from a diverse female-led panel on how societal perceptions, bystander hesitation, and misconceptions around female anatomy affect timely intervention for women experiencing SCA, and why understanding these barriers is crucial for improving survival .
