Inside Avive: One of the 2024 Bay Area Best Places to Work
Few decisions in our lives are more important than where we choose to work. This is because as adults, where we work is also where we end up spending most of our time. Research shows us that the average person will spend 90,000 hours at work over the course of their life. Needless to say, when we are unhappy with the job we’re doing, the people around us, or the environment we’re a part of, our work can start to have a negative impact on the quality of our lives.
Conversely, when we are involved in a mission we believe in, surrounded by colleagues and co-workers who motivate us and leaders who inspire us, our jobs feel less like jobs and more like meaningful work.
On June 14th, Avive had the honor of being named a Top 3 Winner of the 2024 Bay Area Best Places to Work – an awards program presented by the San Francisco Business Times and the Silicon Valley Business Journal.
While this recognition is really a reflection of our dedicated recruiting, hiring, and management teams who continuously bring in great people with top talent, it is also a testament to the special culture we are building here at Avive – a culture that each and every person in our office and on our team define and contribute to daily.
Hear From the Team
The same week that we received news of this award, we also celebrated another company milestone: the hiring of our 100th employee! Read on below to hear from a few of our team members on why they love being a part of the work and mission here at Avive.
As members of Avive’s recruiting and business operations team, how does it feel to be recently recognized among SF Bay Area’s Best Places to Work?
“Avive’s culture is based on trust and care. As a startup, people are given a ton of ownership of their responsibilities (and then some). We place a whole lot of trust into our people. That being said, trust alone isn’t enough. Avive employees truly care about each other, from the C-Suite on down. Not only do we trust everyone to do their part, but we root for each other too. None of us are successful unless we all are, and the trust and care that we have for one another makes Avive a very special place to work.”
JON GREELEY, Recruiting Manager
“Avive has fostered an amazing transparent and collaborative environment which helps to keep it working well. The company promotes teamwork across all levels, ensuring that everyone’s voices are heard and valued. Avive promotes regular team-building activities which helps to build strong relationships between colleagues inside and outside of the office. It really is a place where you can come to work everyday and feel that you are valued and respected!”
ANNETTE KANTORCZYK, Office & Facilities Manager
What sets Avive apart from other workplaces you’ve been at or experienced before?
“In all of my years of working at different medical device companies, Avive Solutions is by far one of the best companies I’ve ever worked for! The management team fosters and promotes a positive company culture and they are all approachable and extremely supportive as well. This is a company that is not only collaborative, but where recognition is acknowledged by management and peers on a regular basis…truly a team environment working to save lives one day at a time! I count myself extremely lucky to be part of such a wonderful company!”
MILAN MEJIA-PRIETO, Customer Success Representative
“I’m really inspired by our product, the Avive Connect AED®. I love the idea that we can deploy these everywhere throughout a city and save lives with it.”
PAUL BURRIS, Embedded Software Test Engineer Manager
“Best decision I made last year was joining Avive Solutions Inc. It was really important to me when leaving the last company I worked for that I find a place with a strong culture that fosters cohesion and teamwork. One year later and I could not be in a better place. If you are looking to make a change, we are hiring!”
