Indiana State AED Law

The state of Indiana grants Good Samaritan protections to those who deploy an AED, including untrained users. Not only are AEDs present at all sporting events, but drama teachers, assistant coaches, and others are required to know how to use an AED, and one must be present at all sports games and theater performances.

EMS Notification

An owner of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) must notify the local ambulance service provider or EMS services of the ownership and location of the AED.

Maintenance Program

The owner of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) must ensure that the AED is properly maintained and tested according to the manufacturer’s operating instructions.
